Finance Manager

We’re now looking for a talented Finance Manager to join our team!

In 2018, we launched the UK’s first real-time pay-by-mile car insurance policy, and we’ve been growing quickly ever since. 

Our pay-by-mile policy was the first of its kind and has proven popular with UK motorists, who voted us Best Car Insurance Provider and Best Insurance App for two years running at the Insurance Choice Awards. Our customer-first approach has also ensured we have a Trustpilot rating of ‘Excellent’. We’ve been covered by the BBC, The Telegraph and TechCrunch, while our pay-by-mile policy has also been featured on TV’s Sky News and The Gadget Show.

We’re now looking for a talented Finance Manager to join our team! 

The role

Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will have overall responsibility for statutory and management reporting, cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting, financial modelling, as well as the day to day accounting.

Our Finance Team sits at the heart of our organisation and through cross-functional collaboration, it is essential in the guidance, development and execution of our commercial success, both now and into the future.

This role has great potential for growth, personal development and future opportunities and is a critical role in supporting the senior team in reporting, forecasting and decision making.

We would love someone to join us with the following skills and attitudes:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to translate and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholder
  • Proactive and a strong advocate for continuous improvement
  • Collaborative approach but able to work independently
  • Strong problem solving and ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

Experience

  • ACCA/ACA qualified with strong post qualification experience
  • Proven experience in working with senior management, other internal teams, and external stakeholders
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements

And if you have some of the below, it's an added bonus, but not essential:

  • Experience in a rapid growth startup environment
  • Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL) & Python
  • Experience on external audits in professional services and/or industry
  • Financial modelling

Day to day you’ll be responsible for:

  • Manage the month end process including reviewing and reconciling all balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Preparation of monthly management & annual statutory accounts
  • Management of external relationships with accountants & auditors
  • Designing and implementing key financial processes and controls to support the rapidly scaling business
  • Own the budgeting and forecasting processes 
  • Continuously identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction
  • Management of monthly payroll and quarterly VAT submissions

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 dependent on experience.

Location: London, with flexible working or UK Hybrid working.
